The quick answer
You must enter Daikoku PA from the expressway
Daikoku Parking Area is located inside the Metropolitan Expressway network in Yokohama. It cannot be reached on foot, by bicycle, by local train, or by public bus. Visitors must arrive in a vehicle using the expressway.
The practical options are a private guided tour, a rental car, or a taxi arranged for both directions. There is no taxi stand or bus stop at Daikoku PA, so secure your return journey before you go.
Before you go
Why is Daikoku PA difficult to access?
It sits inside a controlled expressway network, not beside a local street.
There is no pedestrian entrance from the surrounding Daikoku Pier area.
There is no railway station, public bus stop, or taxi stand at the PA.
Access and exit both require a vehicle traveling on the expressway.

Shibuya area
About 40–60 min
Shinjuku area

Getting back
Plan how you will return before entering Daikoku PA
Daikoku PA has no taxi rank, public bus stop, railway station, or pedestrian exit to the surrounding Daikoku Pier area. Arrange the complete return journey before you arrive.
Private guided tour
Your expressway return and Tokyo drop-off are arranged as part of the trip.
Rental car
Set your return destination before departure and stay on the expressway when leaving the PA. Do not follow a route that assumes a local-road connection at Daikokufuto.
Pre-arranged taxi
Confirm that the same taxi will wait and complete the return trip. Do not rely on finding or calling another taxi after a one-way drop-off.
Train or local bus
Services may reach parts of Daikoku Pier, but they do not enter the PA. You cannot complete either direction by walking between the pier and the parking area.
The official Daikoku PA access notice explains that the PA cannot be entered from local roads and has no taxi rank or bus stop.

Recommended for visitors
Join a private guided tour
A driver-guided passenger tour is the simplest option for visitors who do not want to navigate Tokyo's expressways. A round trip, expressway access, and the return journey are arranged together, and no driving license is required.
Pickup and drop-off within Tokyo's 23 wards
Local driver handles the expressway route
Highway tolls included
A PIT AUTOBACS SHINONOME stop included
Private group of up to nine guests across as many as three vehicles
Alternative route considered if Daikoku PA is inaccessible
Drive a rental car
Self-driving offers flexibility, but only if you hold a license valid for driving in Japan and meet the rental company's requirements. Tokyo's expressway has frequent junctions, lane changes, tolls, and unfamiliar signage, so prepare the route in advance.
JDM Run does not offer self-drive vehicle rentals. Its tours are passenger experiences operated by a local driver.
Arrange a taxi in advance
A taxi can use the expressway, but Daikoku PA has no taxi stand. Only arrange a taxi whose operator agrees to wait and complete the return journey; do not book a one-way drop-off.
Leave the expressway navigation to a local driver
Review the route, private group pricing, and live availability before choosing your date.

Practical access information
Train and walking access
There is no railway station, public bus stop, or pedestrian entrance at Daikoku PA. Reaching the surrounding Daikoku Pier area does not allow you to enter from the local road. You still need an expressway vehicle for both arrival and departure.
What if Daikoku PA is closed?
Daikoku PA can close for construction, traffic management, or safety reasons. The car gathering is not an official scheduled event, so access and the number of cars cannot be guaranteed. Check current expressway information before departure and keep an alternative destination available. When Daikoku PA is inaccessible, JDM Run may continue to Umihotaru PA instead.
